Synopsis

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring… until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something… unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is.

"If anything, his expression took on a mask of grudging acceptance, probably how I looked when I had to give a book I'd been excited about a less than stellar review."

My Thoughts

Rating: 5/5 shining stars!

This book is so flipping amazing! I loved it to the moon and the back. It left me absolutely speechless. My mind is seriously blown. I had never expected myself to have such a joyous ride with this book that made me gasp for air! Personally, I'm not a big fan of Science Fiction books, but this book is a great exception!

The characters were strong and relatable, and the storyline was solid. Though, at first, I didn't find myself relating to the characters, and the plot wasn't so complex; it got better later in the book. It got really intense, and I couldn't stop myself from reading it. Armentrout did such a fantastic job in writing this book!

Katy Swartz, the protagonist, moves to a small town of West Virginia from Florida, and if that wasn't bad enough, she finds herself living next door to the biggest jerk ever.

Daemon Black.. Where do I even start!? He's so strong, attractive, gorgeous, and a kick-ass character. Too good to be true.
His character description was really amazing! The more I got to know his history, the more I realized how steady his character development was.

As both of them develop an unexpected friendship, Katy eventually learns some peculiar things about him and his sister, Dee. In the long run, she learns that he is, in fact, an alien. A hot alien with supernatural powers.

How does she face this fact, and begin a relationship with him?

Read the series to find out.

All in all, I recommend this to anyone who loves a killer romance, and many laugh out loud moments. Honestly, you don't even have to like aliens when you pick up this book because by the time you finish it, you'll adore them.

I'm definitely looking forward to reading the whole series!
