Rating: 5/5 stars

This was my first Colleen Hoover book, and I think it was destiny jumping in and saying, "Hey Leah, you need to finally freaking pick up one of her books," as if all my friends on Bookstagram saying the same thing wasn't enough!

Why is it destiny, you might ask. Well, my friends, because while November 9 is the date around which the entire plot of this book is centered, it's also my birthday. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Obviously, I'm kind of regretting not picking up her books before now, I mean I did just order five of her books. (No regrets!!)

So let's talk characters, starting with,

Fallon. I love Fallon as a main character. She has razor-sharp wit and a great sense of humor, but she is flawed and kind of falling apart. She doesn't exactly have the best home life. (I'm looking at you, Fallon's dad. *narrows eyes*) But she manages to pull herself together, gain back her confidence, and build a life for herself throughout the course of the story. (With a little help from Ben of course ;))

Ben. Benton James Kessler. Can I marry him? Please? *sigh* Ben. Ben Ben Ben Ben Ben. Ben. Jeez, what do I say about him? That he's perfect? Literally the best book boyfriend in the history of the universe? (Apparently so; I just did. xD) Ben was amazing, and I'm honestly struggling to write this without going all fangirl-y, keyboard smash-y on you guys. *takes a deep breath* Okay, I got this. Ben is a captivating guy, and probably every reading girl's dream boyfriend. He is sweet, sassy, protective and caring. He is a wannabe writer. He's romantic. He's an extremely deep character. And he's got a big secret.

Writing. (Hahaha you all hate me now, don't you? xD) Well, all I can say is that Colleen's writing is perfection. It's captivating, descriptive, funny, and just all wonderful! Her writing kind of sucks you in and doesn't let you go until you've finished the entire book. (Did I mention I read this book in a day? With ease?)

Plot. Right off the bat I found the concept intriguing. It reminded me of a rom-com I'd curl up on the couch and watch with a mug of tea. The story was well paced, the characters well developed.. And, well, let's just say that Colleen is the queen of plot twists. Enough said.

I'd recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed any of Colleen Hoover's other books or Fangirl.
