Holiday Book Recommendations

Christmas is right around the corner! That means it's time to snuggle up in bed with a cup of hot cocoa... and, of course, a good book! I've made a list of books that are perfect to read during the holiday season. Let me know if you've read any of these, and whether you liked it or not. (:

Let it Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle

Sparkling white snowdrifts, beautiful presents wrapped in ribbons, and multicolored lights glittering in the night through the falling snow. A Christmas Eve snowstorm transforms one small town into a romantic haven, the kind you see only in movies. Well, kinda. After all, a cold and wet hike from a stranded train through the middle of nowhere would not normally end with a delicious kiss from a charming stranger. And no one would think that a trip to the Waffle House through four feet of snow would lead to love with an old friend. Or that the way back to true love begins with a painfully early morning shift at Starbucks.
Thanks to three of today’s bestselling teen authors—John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle—the magic of the holidays shines on these hilarious and charming interconnected tales of love, romance, and breathtaking kisses.

This book sounds so cute! It's definitely on my winter TBR.

Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan

Lily has left a red notebook full of challenges on a favorite bookstore shelf, waiting for just the right guy to come along and accept its dares. But is Dash that right guy? Or are Dash and Lily only destined to trade dares, dreams, and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations across New York? Could their in-person selves possibly connect as well as their notebook versions? Or will they be a comic mismatch of disastrous proportions?
Rachel Cohn and David Levithan have written a love story that will have readers perusing bookstore shelves, looking and longing for a love (and a red notebook) of their own.

Ah, I'm so ashamed to have not read this book yet. *face palms*  But I really hope to get to it this month!

My True Love Gave To Me

You have twelve reasons this season to stay indoors and fall in love.
Holiday stories by some amazing authors... YES PLEASE!

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter thinks he is an ordinary boy. He lives with his Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia and cousin Dudley, who are mean to him and make him sleep in a cupboard under the stairs. (Dudley, however, has two bedrooms, one to sleep in and one for all his toys and games.) Then Harry starts receiving mysterious letters and his life is changed forever. He is whisked away by a beetle-eyed giant of a man and enrolled at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The reason: Harry Potter is a wizard! The first book in the "Harry Potter" series makes the perfect introduction to the world of Hogwarts.
Although Harry Potter isn't a Christmas-y book, I feel like it'd be great to read (or re-read) this series in the holiday season!

Sadly, I haven't read that many Christmas-y books, which is why this list is so short. Do you guys have any other recommendations? Please let me know in the comments below!

  1. Landline by Rainbow Rowell is extremely good!

  2. Every time I think about Christmas and books Let It Snow and Harry Potter pop into my head. Tho, other than the first story I did not enjoy Let It Snow so much but the cover...loving it :D And I really like the cover of Dash & Lily's Book of Dares, I think I will check it out :)
